Jenny
Lyrics by Paulina Logan and Jenny Nash
Music by Paulina Logan
Jenny broke her glasses
She doesn't know where to start
Jenny has such bad luck
She keeps on hurting her car
She doesn't mean to do it
But it happens anyway
And in the morning when she wakes
She says this every day
Why can't I be like every other girl
So concerned with make-up and their pearls
So help me be content to watch the clouds
To spin in lazy circles and to laugh out loud
I was always trying to heal my wounds
But the salt would take over too soon
Every time I wanted you to know
I could never let the scars show
Jenny went to school one day
She failed another test
Some guy broke her heart again
Sort of like all the rest
If no man is an island
Then what is a girl to do
Table set, candles lit
But no dinner for two
Why can't I see the way things need to be
There's only emptiness inside of me
Let me make a path to call my own
To find a place where I am truly home
I was always trying to heal my wounds
But the salt would take over too soon
Every time I wanted you to know
I could never let the scars show
Jenny moved away last night to find out who she is
Maybe in a couple of days the scenery she'll miss
Everyone can live their lives, she needs them no more
She found peace inside of her, she settled the score
Jenny broke through the ashes
